About UPSC
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is the central recruiting agency for shortlisting candidates to various services of the Union and the services of the state. The major responsibility of the Commission is to scrutinise candidates for the All India Services comprising three prestigious services – Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Foreign Service (IFS).
Every year, the Commission releases the UPSC calendar for all examinations. Candidates who are aspiring for the Central services can check the UPSC exam dates before the release of notification. The central recruiting agency also releases the UPSC time table that includes the date of notification, last date for receipt of applications, date of commencement of exam and duration of the exam.

UPSC Civil Service (Premilinary) Exam Schedule 2022
The UPSC releases the exam dates at least a year before the Civil Services Examination (CSE). The Commission has recently revised the Civil Services Exam Schedule. Aspirants can check IAS exam dates 2022 before the release of notification.

Structure of the Examination
Civil Service Examination consist of 3 stages as mentioned below:
Stage 1 – Preliminary Exam (Objective Type)
Stage 2 – Mains Exam (Descriptive Type)
Stage 3 – Personality Test/ Interview (Oral)
Stage 1 – PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION:
The Examination shall comprise of two compulsory Papers of 200 marks each.
Note:
(i) Both the question papers will be of the objective type (multiple choice questions) and each will be of two hours duration.
(ii) The General Studies Paper-II of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination will be a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%.
(iii) The question papers will be set both in Hindi and English.
Stage 2 – MAIN EXAMINATION:

Paper-A: One of the Indian Language to be selected by the candidate from the Languages included in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution – 300 Marks
